Compassionate Care

ABF’s Chaplaincy Division is committed to serving families with integrity, kindness, and enthusiasm. With respect to diverse beliefs and values, our Chaplains will aim to provide support to all families in need. We pledge to uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct and commit our way to helping families heal through compassionate care.

Can We Count You In?

It truly takes a village, a community of helping hands to provide adequate support for families fighting for the lives of their children. Your professional skills could make a significant difference in the way families cope with their child’s diagnosis, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. If you are able to give at least five hours of your time per month to support this cause, we encourage you to answer our call. If you are ready to make a meaningful difference, we invite you to join the Compassionate Care Division. We are seeking professionals such as ordained chaplains, religious leaders of all faiths, therapists, and clerical people to help the Compassionate Care Division equip the families we serve with the tools needed to aid them through their grief or their battle. Not only do we need you, but they need you! Can we count you in?

Chaplain Anderson, an ordained and humanist chaplain, also serves as the CEO and lead educator of a chaplaincy training program that provides leadership development for our local and global communities.

Navigating Feelings of Anxiety

As someone who is learning to navigate feelings of anxiety, that feeling of powerlessness and loss of self-control can feel debilitating. Although we cannot control everything that happens to us, we can certainly learn healthy responses to life’s challenges. Mental health therapy, prayer, or mindfulness exercises are important components to your well-being. I have learned how to incorporate the practice of intentional breathing which is inhaling and exhaling slowly. Doing this helps to relieve stress, and reduce anxiety. Always remember, to advocate for yourself and be intentional with self-care as you manage the complexities of life.
