A National Moment for Pediatric Cancer

During a Ways and Means Committee meeting, Congressman Brendan Boyle spoke about the Hope for a Cure Act and directly asked Secretary Kennedy to support recognizing pediatric cancer as a national health emergency.

We are deeply grateful to Congressman Boyle and his office for helping bring this issue to the national stage.

At the Ahmad Butler Foundation, this effort is personal. The push for a national health emergency declaration and the development of the Hope for a Cure Act were driven by the realities families face every day and the urgent need for stronger support for research.

Seeing this conversation move to the federal level is meaningful, and it gives us hope.

While there is still work ahead, this moment represents real progress. It reflects growing awareness, national attention, and the possibility of lasting change for children and families facing pediatric cancer.
