About Ahmad Butler Foundation

ABF was founded in 2020 with a mission to support families battling pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases while striving to improve their quality of life. Designed around a holistic approach to supporting the needs of the child and the entire family, ABF’s programs focus on filling the educational, social, emotional, and financial gaps families experience after diagnosis. 
Before passing away at the age of six, Ahmad Butler dreamed of being a police officer and “helping a lot of people.” ABF strives to fulfill Ahmad’s dream of “helping a lot of people.”

Jason Collins

Jason Collins is an award-winning Master Photographer, strategic communications leader, and visual storyteller with more than two decades of experience shaping narratives that move people to care, act, and connect. Based in Central Florida, Collins brings a rare blend of creative excellence, editorial discipline, and mission-driven communications strategy, grounded in integrity, empathy, and clarity.

Collins began his career in journalism, developing a strong foundation in ethical reporting, visual narrative, and newsroom standards while contributing to regional and statewide publications. His work extended beyond bylines, encompassing assignment-driven storytelling, community coverage, relationship-building with editors and sources, and the fast-paced demands of producing compelling work under deadline. He later expanded into leadership roles that shaped editorial vision and brand identity, including serving as publisher of the Local Buzz Arts & Entertainment Magazine and Director of Photography for Palm Beach Gardens Lifestyle Magazine. Across print, digital, and evolving media platforms, he has led content development, guided creative direction, and built strong networks across the arts, media, and nonprofit communities.

Over time, Collins’ work evolved from documentation to strategy. He is known for pairing message discipline with human-centered storytelling, helping organizations communicate with credibility, purpose, and consistency across channels. His experience spans content strategy, media relations, narrative development, and collaborative leadership, with a focus on ensuring stories are told with dignity and impact while staying true to the people at the center of them.

As Communications Director for the Ahmad Butler Foundation, Collins helps amplify the foundation’s mission through storytelling that honors courage, compassion, and resilience. He leads communications strategy and storytelling that strengthen awareness, deepen community engagement, and elevate the voices of children and families battling pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases, ensuring ABF’s message of hope is carried with professionalism, authenticity, and heart.

A husband to his wife Brittany and father of four, Collins believes storytelling is both an art and a responsibility. He is driven by the conviction that the most powerful stories don’t simply inform, they affirm humanity, build community, and remind people they are not alone.

At the Ahmad Butler Foundation, that belief becomes deeply personal. ABF brings together the work Collins has spent his life doing, honoring people’s stories with dignity, and the work he believes matters most: standing with families when life becomes unrecognizable.
