Philadelphia, PA – We’re excited to announce that “The Long Walk for Pediatric Cancer,” directed by David Goodman with Humanity Pictures and co-produced with Nicole Amelio-Casper of Amelio Media, has been officially selected by the New York Monthly Film Festival. This selection is not just an honor, it brings vital attention to the urgent need for pediatric cancer funding and action. The documentary captures our 179-mile journey from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C., where we delivered a petition at the Capitol and were honored with a congressional proclamation. The film amplifies the voices of families, driving home the need for fairness in research funding.
The film is produced in collaboration with Humanity Pictures, led by David Goodman. With over two decades of experience, David transitioned from acting to filmmaking with a focus on human victories. Humanity Pictures is known for spotlighting stories of resilience, supporting causes like pediatric cancer, and creating films that inspire action. David’s deep understanding of storytelling and human spirit aligns perfectly with our mission, making this recognition all the more meaningful.
“I’m honored to share ABF’s commitment to families battling pediatric cancer, and my hope is that this recognition not only acknowledges our work on the film, but elevates the vital message behind it, said David Goodman with Humanity Pictures.
“This official selection in the New York Monthly Film Festival is not only monumental, but a testament to the unique power of visual storytelling in advocacy,” said Jason Collins, Communications Director at the Ahmad Butler Foundation. “As a journalist, writer, and advocate, I believe storytelling sparks awareness, but meaningful change comes when awareness leads to action. This recognition helps push pediatric cancer to the forefront of public consciousness, where it belongs.”
